Fish Mass in the lake and we published a paper from it
The massive fish kill event occurred on 11 January 2018 (for several days). I was given a responsible to lead the investigation on this mass mortality of fish. Approximately ∼8,500 fishes from the Oreochromis placidus species were dead in this event. The reason was unknown in the begining. After a thorough investigation, several factors were highlighted to cause the fish kill. One of them was due to the bloom of a freshwater green alga Botryococcus braunii (Botryococcaceae, Trebouxiophyceae).
